![]() Door we see here, once portrayed by the late Lance Reddick. It's very similar to Quantum Break's Martin Hatch, whose surname is synonymous with door, and whose physical appearance is very similar to the Mr. Door, who claims to be an interdimensional being who can "transfer" into any of many worlds at will. Gate, a character mentioned but not seen in Control. We had a look at the next episode in Remedy's press release a few days ago, but we're seeing a lot more here. We can see this person's face better in the later parts of the trailer and we note this below. ![]() The more interesting detail is who wears the mask. These are known to be worn by members of the Tree Sect. It's not a wild thing for viewers, but we do see another deer mask in this trailer, albeit a frame or two. My theory is that the coffee is filled with the Dark One and helps the Tree Sect in the game to rapidly increase the number of followers. It looks like this Watery-based business will play an important role in the sequel. The company's new postings were even placed on the Alan Wake remaster a few years ago. Will we open even more of these doors in Alan Wake 2? Coffee World is backĬoffee World has appeared in Alan Wake 2 footage more times than I can ever remember. Note that according to a popular theory, every locked door with a symbol on it in Oceanview leads to a different story associated with Remedy. This confirms that we'll be at Oceanview once again in Remedy's latest connected game, but we know from past trailers that it seems to have undergone a name change to suit its NYC location: Oceanview Hotel. It's the same spiral we saw in the hallway of Control's Oceanview Motel, and the game was concluded by the sleuth community to be home to the world of Alan Wake behind it. Scratch or Alan wrestling with himself? Is there a difference? But more striking is the symbol on the door. In one of the trailer's most glaring teasers, we see the John Wick-like Alan walk through a door to shoot… Alan? Is this Mr. There are also VHS tapes under the TV for a reason we don't yet understand, but it seems to point more towards the 90's influence the game is said to have been made of. We know from other images in this trailer that the television is LumiVista branded, which could mean "Light Appearance" as a clear reference to the game's light and dark themes and mechanics. In his room at Bird Leg Cabin, Alan has a '90s-style television on his desk. Alan's Television Alan Wake 2 Gamescom Trailer There are loads of great details here, even if they are nothing more than Easter eggs. It's also worth noting that the image on the poster is a recolored version of the interior of the Bird Leg Cabin from the first game. But how does Alan know him enough to show his name on a poster drawn from his soul? Or can Ahti enter that metaphysical realm whenever he wants? We know from that game that he recently spent time in Bright Falls' rival town, Watery, Washington. Music by Thomas Seine Thomas Zane, Aleksi Kasa Alex Casey and even a band called Ahti and the Janitors are also included. The banner's tagline reads: "The heat of murder was like a burning crown on your forehead." Combined with the aesthetics of the poster, it seems to give it an air of crime noir similar to what Alan wrote famously with his Alex Casey books.Īlso, the generic part of the poster is full of familiar names, but this time in Finnish. There's a lot to say here, so I'll try to keep it short. Nightless Night poster Alan Wake 2 Gamescom TrailerĪ poster of a movie called Nightless Night hangs on the wall. Although these are just what Alan had in mind and wouldn't make sense in the real world, I hope we'll get more in-game collectibles in the form of new Night Springs episodes that we can watch. At the bottom of the poster it says "New Season Coming Soon". In this wide shot, we see a poster of Night Springs, a Twilight Zone-like anthology series in the universe that Alan was working on at some point in his career. Ok, I promise not every post will be as long as the first. Night Springs is reviving Alan Wake 2 Gamescom Trailer I've seen mentions of something that looks like "destroyed" or "destroyed," but it's unclear to me how that might relate to the story, unless the Dark Place's barrier shatters and gives Alan a window of opportunity to get out. It should be noted that these opening images also feature a lot of newspapers, some of which have some of the headlines visible, but I couldn't make out anything astonishing from these pieces.
